Alongside the wedding dress, the wedding cake, and the food, the decorations are one of the most important items on the to-do list at weddings. myHOMEBOOK provides insights into the trends for 2025.
Champagne towers, wedding arches with flowers, and atmospheric candlelight in the evening – these were the wedding trends in 2024. And what will it look like in 2025? A little spoiler in advance: the dinner table and organic shapes will be the focus of wedding decorations in 2025.
Overview
Bows Are Here to Stay
Bows have already earned their place as it-pieces on Christmas trees, Advent wreaths, and candlesticks during Christmas 2024. And they are here to stay because bows are also a real trend when it comes to wedding decorations for 2025. They are tied around chairs or adorn wedding dresses. Dinner tables are also decorated with cream-colored bows. They are particularly romantic and can also look opulent when oversized.
Flowing Draped Fabrics
A smoothly draped tablecloth? For 2025 wedding decorations, it can be a bit more lavish. A wide variety of fabrics with different textures and surfaces are combined and draped, sometimes overlapping. This is known as layering and creates a luxurious atmosphere, and the different fabrics add depth to otherwise flat surfaces.
Burgundy Red Trend Continues in 2025 Wedding Decorations
This trend, which will also dominate wedding decorations in 2025, was already evident in shoe and bag colors in the autumn and winter of 2024: Burgundy red is on the rise. This warm color harmonizes particularly well with white and cream tones. Weddings in both fall and winter look particularly festive with this combination. The white hydrangea, which is popular for weddings, looks particularly good with burgundy roses.
Organic Shapes
In keeping with layering, the trend for wedding decorations in 2025 is organic shapes. Tables are not just rectangular or square. Round and wave-shaped tables loosen up the entire table and chair ensemble. Delicate glasses and tableware, which can also have curved edges and shapes, go well with this. Even cutlery handles are no longer straight with this trend, but are, instead, organically curved.
Fruit and Vegetables Instead of Flowers
It doesn’t always have to be the classic flower arrangement. Artful arrangements can be made from artichokes, grapes, chicory, and richly textured flowers, which are not just an eye-catcher on the wedding table. This is because some or all of the arrangements are often edible and complement the rest of the buffet or à la carte menu. But it’s not just fruit that can be used. Wedding and event artist Jim Berner, for example, serves butter with bread in the form of elaborate butter sculptures.
Bright Colors for the Big Day
In addition to burgundy red, which tends to be more restrained, the trend for wedding decorations in 2025 is towards bright colors. Spring and summer weddings, in particular, benefit from pink, blue, and purple, which can be seen in the choice of flowers as well as the other decorations in the form of napkins, tableware, or lighting. If you want to set particularly strong accents, wrap entire walls with large cloths or lengths of fabric in bright colors.
Sustainability Also Applies to Wedding Decorations in 2025
Disposable weddings are a thing of the past. Regional and seasonal flowers, borrowed tableware, and decorations that can also be used after the wedding are all the rage. Cloth napkins are just as much a part of sustainability as finger food with edible picks and sauce bowls.
